Here is a small one from yesterday. It's really neat getting such a big kick out of doing such a small painting. The small ones take just as much mental effort as the big ones do. They just don't require as much paint. :) I was at Durant Nature Park by the upper lake.

The owner of the property I was on told me a while back that there was a pond somewhere. I couldn't find it on my own. I was able to bring-up this location on Google Earth. I saw the little pond and was able to find it yesterday.

This was a study using under-painting. I really like the way the little house turned out. I think I'm on to something...hmmm...

This is one of those scenes you can't hardly believe unless you see it for yourself. A simply amazing sunset.

I was out visiting my friend John Wren on Sunday. The clouds were great fun to paint.

I went back to the creek in the local nature park yesterday. I forgot my paper towels so I used painting knives on this one.

I read somewhere that to paint water you need to paint what is under the water, the reflections of objects, the reflection of the sky, and what is happening to the surface of the water. Once you have all of that, the magic of water appears.

This is one I did yesterday at the local nature park.

I'm back from the workshop. What a great time I had. Marc Hanson is an excellent artist and a great teacher. I painted this one late in the afternoon. There were some great shadows on the sand.

No painting in this entry. I'm headed down to Jacksonville, FL today. I'm taking a Marc Hanson workshop. Hopefully I'll have some paintings to post when I return. Wish me luck.
