11x14 oil on canvas panel "Old Homestead"

I was at the Aiken's property today. I had a great time painting and visiting with Mary and Linda.

8x10 oil on canvas panel "Sunday on the Deck"

It was a partly cloudy day; tough to lock in the light and shadow. It was good practice putting in the figures. I need much more.

11x14 oil on canvas panel "Holden Dairy Pond"

There is so much color outside! When the sun hits these little ponds they seem to explode with color.

11x14 oil on canvas panel "Hutch's Barns"

I used some pottery tools and painting knives on this one. I like the way they worked for the detail on the buildings. I'll probably put a glaze on the road to darken it a little, but that's all I'll do to this one.

11x14 oil on canvas panel "Falls Lake-Spring"

It was a good hike to this area of Falls Lake. The lake is full now. Hopefully it will stay full for a long time.

12x16 oil on canvas panel "Spring Pond"

First time painting at Hutch's place. I made a day of it yesterday. I had my lunch to eat and several calves to keep me company. There are several places to explore here. I decided to paint the first thing that caught my eye. The little pond had all the right stuff.

16x20 oil on canvas panel "Theys Road"

I remember painting the plein air study of this scene. It was a very bright day.

9x12 oil on canvas panel "Spring Bouquet"

Trying different compositions.

8x10 oil on canvas panel "Pete's Barn"

The ground is soaked, the lakes and pond are full, and the clouds are here. I'm thinking our drought is broken. I was at a new place yesterday. It has possibilities.

11x14 oil on canvas panel "Fence Row"

Don't forget the sun screen! I got a little too much sun yesterday. It can sneak-up on you, this time of year. It was great being out in the pasture. The grass loves the spring.
