9x12 oil on "texture enhanced" gessoboard "The Golden Hour"

I almost stayed home yesterday. I'm glad I went out. That last light before and just after sunset is special.

9x12 oil on "texture enhanced" gessoboard "Across the Dell"

Another great day to be outside painting.

The enhanced texture is from the extra gesso I added to the painting surface. The support now grabs the paint better and allows me to paint over areas easier (without making mud).

8x10 oil on gessoboard "Raleigh Rose Garden"

I've been there a dozen (pun intended) times. This time I actually painted the roses.

11x14 oil on canvas panel "Morning Field"

It's much cooler here in Raleigh. I really enjoyed being outside with long sleeves and long shadows.
